Privacy Policy — Svaha by House of Avaang

Last updated: June 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Svaha app ("Svaha", "the App", "we") collects, how it is used, and how it is stored. Svaha is developed by House of Avaang.

1. Information We Collect

Svaha is designed to keep your personal data on your device and in your own Google account — not on our servers. We do not operate a backend server that stores your personal data.

a. Account information (only if you choose to sign in with Google)
If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. This is used only to personalize your experience within the app (e.g., displaying your name) and to enable backup/restore.

b. App data (journal entries, intentions/Sankalps, session history)
Your journal entries, intentions, meditation session history, and streak data are stored locally on your device using on-device storage. If you sign in with Google, this data is also backed up to a hidden, app-specific folder in your own Google Drive account (Drive's "appdata" space). This folder is not visible in your regular Drive file list and is not accessible to House of Avaang, Google support staff acting on our behalf, or any third party — only the app itself, running on your signed-in device, can read or write to it.

c. No analytics, no advertising
Svaha does not use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or tracking pixels. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.

2. How We Use Information

Information collected is used solely to:

provide and personalize the meditation and journaling experience; back up and restore your data across devices via your own Google Drive; and display your basic profile information (name, photo) within the app.

3. Data Storage and Security

Local app data is stored on your device using standard Android secure storage APIs. Backup data stored in Google Drive's appdata folder is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and governed by Google's own security infrastructure and your Google account's security settings (including two-factor authentication, if enabled).

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. We do not have server-side access to your journal entries, intentions, or session data — they live only on your device and in your own Google Drive.

5. Your Choices

You can use Svaha entirely without signing in to Google; in that case, no account information is collected and no backup is created. If you previously signed in, you can sign out at any time from the Profile tab — this stops new backups but does not delete your existing Drive backup file. You may delete the backup file directly from your Google Account's third-party app permissions page by removing Svaha's access, or by deleting the app data via Google Drive's app management settings.

6. Children's Privacy

Svaha is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
